About

A  mother, a wife, a daughter, a sister, a bookworm, a movie enthusiast, a self-taught cook and baker…

Welcome to my blog. This is where I  would like to document my cooking adventures, our homeschooling work, family anecdotes, as well as my interests in books, movies and crafts. All the things that come with being a stay-at-home mum.

I am constantly figuring out that age-old question: what’s for dinner? I hope to share some of what I’ve learned as a self-taught cook and baker, through trial and error with my family. With our mixed heritage of culture and food from both sides of our family, as well as my avid interest in collecting recipes, this blog would help me to collate the ideas, traditions and recipes that I have collected over time.

This blog also distills my approach to raising a healthy, curious eater. Whether it’s figuring out what to make for lunch or setting limits on sweets and snacks, I want to involve my boy in choosing food that is healthful, fresh and fun.

I am also a believer in fun learning at home. Although I am not trained as an educator (yet), I’ve always been interested in learning at home and that it should be fun, varied and allows for exploration and imagination within some form of structure. This blog will help collate the useful and wide range of resources that I have found – books, activities and websites that I have used.

I live in Singapore with my boy and my husband, both of whom are my food testers.

  1. Great blog! And I love your About Me page. We learn at home as well. It’s amazing how much I am still learning…no school building required! 😉

    • Thanks Valerie! In Singapore, its compulsory for children to go to school so I wanted to support and complement what he will be learning in school with our own activities. When I first starting looking into homeschooling, was quite overwhelmed but with blogs such as yours and many others, I’ve found lots of inspiration and ideas.
