Lunches for the week #17

This week was a full 5-day lunch week. MilkyBar had a school off-day due to Sports Day rehearsal so we had a last min sleepover at his grandma’s house. Two of this week’s lunches were inspired from The Great Big Veg Challenge book – fresh tomato sauce and baked sweet potato fries. Both got the thumbs-up from MilkyBar.

For Fri’s lunch, we had some leftover keema from last night’s dinner. Keema is an Indian minced meat curry often with diced potatoes and green peas. It is mildly spiced dish that is lovely eaten with Indian bread such as naan and chapatti. This recipe I use is an amalgamation from my mum and mother-in-laws’. I’ll put it up in the next post šŸ™‚

Mon: Stirfried spirulina noodles with cabbage and shrimp, cucumber slices, cherry tomatoes, and mandarin orange segments

Tues: Wholewheat pasta in fresh tomato sauce and edamame, baby radish flowers, green grapes, and Ribena konnyaku jelly

Wed: Fried rice with chicken meatball and topped with nori, hardboiled quail eggs, green grapes and fruit sweets

Thurs: leftover pasta from Tues topped with parmesan cheese, and baked spicy sweet potato fries

Fri: Pita sandwich with leftover keema and purple cabbage filling, nori and Ribena konnyaku jelly

By the by, I LOVE the Mickey Mouse cloth placemat that we got from Francfranc, a Japanese home furnishing retail store that opened here last year. We especially love browsing the kitchenware and bathroom accessories. I also spotted some beautiful melamine dishes that I might get on my next visit there šŸ™‚
